Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar have changed their network names to ‘Tamim al Majd’ to express solidarity with His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. The telecom service providers made the announcements on Twitter to inform users about the change. “Qatar will always be free, elevated by the spirits of the loyal,” Ooredoo tweeted. ‘Tamim al Majd’, or ‘Tamim the Glorious’, is the title of the portrait by contemporary Qatari artist Ahmed bin Majed al-Maadheed that has become the face of the Qatari resilience in the face of the ongoing blockade.
