Palestinians walk past a mural marking the 33rd anniversary of the Stones Intifada in Gaza City, on December 8, 2020. The first Palestinian intifada, or the intifada of stones, was called by that name because the stones were a tool of attack and defense that the resistance fighters used against the Israeli army, and the children of stone throwers were also known as children of stones. The intifada is a form of popular, spontaneous, popular Palestinian protest against the miserable general situation in the camps, the spread of unemployment, the insult to national sentiment and the daily oppression practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinians.
