Jawaher, 36, who was protesting against Israel's West Bank separation barrier, was evacuated to the Ramallah hospital on 31 December 2010 after inhaling massive amounts of tear-gas during the weekly Friday protest in Bilin, and died on 01 January 2011 morning after she did not respond to medical treatment. Abu Rahmah was the sister of Bassem Abu Rahmah, who was killed during a protest in the same village, which is located about four kilometres from the Israel-West Bank border on 17 April 2009.
