Palestinian farmers collect the orange "Valencia" during a harvest season, at a farm, in the southern of Gaza Strip, on April 12, 2021. Harvest times for sweet oranges vary depending on the variety, and varieties with larger fruit may require more time to ripen in cooler northern climates than they require in hotter climates; oranges grown in hot climates tend to be sweeter than those grown in cooler climates, as well. Navel oranges ripen in the winter and into the spring and early summer, while Valencia oranges begin ripening in the spring and are harvested through the summer. Photo by Ashraf Amra
