An ancient remains is seen in the ancient Basha's Palace museum in Gaza City on July 15, 2010. The Basha's Palace stands out as a building of historic value in the centre of Gaza City. The Emperor Napoleon considered it the most suitable place to stay with his entourage during three nights spent in the ancient city in the middle of his military campaign in Egypt and Syria in February 1799. The museum does not only tell the history of the building, but address other periods of history, and display exhibits from the Gaza Strip Department of Antiquities collection. The museum has now become a beautiful place for hosting cultural and educational activities for the local community and visitors and it is financed by the Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip..
