Palestinian fire fighters try to extinguish a blaze at a burning factory after an Israeli missile strike in the east of Gaza Strip on 14 March 2012. A fragile truce appeared to be taking hold between Israel and Palestinian militias in the Gaza Strip, ending four days of fierce tit-for-tat violence which left 25 Palestinians dead and saw close to 200 rockets rain down on Israel. But, despite the confirmation from one of the main Palestinian groups that the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire had come into effect before dawn, militants nonetheless launched six rockets and mortars at southern Israel. The number of missiles, however, was far fewer than in previous days. The Israeli Air Force did not respond with any attacks of its own. Photo by Ali Jadallah
