Fatah movement supporters shout as they take part in a rally following Friday noon prayers in Gaza City. Security forces from the ruling Hamas detained four journalists, including an AFP photographer as it broke up a mass rally for the rival Fatah movement. Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip in mid-June, overrunning pro-Fatah security forces loyal to president Mahmud Abbas after a week of street clashes that killed more than 100 people. Since its bloody takeover, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has sought to break up pro-Fatah rallies and to prevent journalists from filming such gatherings.
